  • Being a designer isn't a 9 to 5 job
Most of this blog has a design bias but in this section there are thoughts, ideas and stuff that is related specifically to graphic design.
  • ...and you can eat and drink what you like!
The moment I see a jogger smiling, I'll considerate it.

    Joan Rivers

That's what I used to think but at the age of 46 my wife convinced me that running would be good for me. 4 months later I was running the New York Marathon.
  • Do vegetarians eat Animal Crackers?
As a young boy I remember everyone in our house could cook. My Mum always baked cakes and biscuits on Mondays and Cheese and Onion Pie on Fridays and my Dad always cooked Christmas Dinner. I grew up on Sheep's Head Broth, Cow Heel Pie, Lancashire Hotpot and Bury Market Black Puddings eaten on the hoof, hot from a boiling cauldron, slathered with English Mustard and a generous sprinkle of salt.
  • Inspiring young people to help others
Gig-Arts presents dynamic free creative enterprise days with workshops and live gigs, for students of the visual arts, music and drama. In return for their free day, Gig-Arts participants pledge a day of their time and talent to help others in their community.
  • I don't know much about...
...art, books, cinema, tv, music and dance, but I know what I like.
  • Passionate about design
The Eskimos have fifty two names for snow because it was important to them: there ought to be as many for love.

    Margaret Atwood

Here is love on a creative theme.
  • Words by people who's actions inspire me.
An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.

    Edward de Bono

  • Have you heard the one about...
Humour is a funny thing. I miss the days when in the pub, a mate would say "Have you heard the one about..." Email is the new pub. Here you'll find things that made me chuckle. Some from emails, some from real-life.
  • It's all a matter of taste
You've either got or you haven't got style. If you got it, you stand out a mile. A flower's not a flower if it's wilted, A hat's not a hat till it's tilted. You either got or you haven't got class. How it draws the applause of the masses.
